Describe a real life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

 One situation in which jealousy negatively affected a realtionship I had is when I was younger, in around kindergarten, I was at one of my friends houses. Me and her had been playing together, and I don't exactly remember how it started, but we started arguing over a book, because we both wanted it, but I had it first. We were both trying to pull it away from each other, when she suddenly bit my arm. We were kids, so it was kind of a silly fight, but I remember after that I was crying, and I don't remember ever seeing her again.

Today in class we started working on a group project, and we read the story "The Jealous Father".

This group project can help me learn how to work cohesively with my classmates, which is helpful for me, because I usually prefer doing solo work instead. In addition to that, I will also get to know some of the others in the class better, and work with people I don't usually talk to.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

 One thing that makes me different from other people is that I feel like my personality and the way I act can change extremely based on the people I'm around and the environment. When I'm around my friends I can be super loud and I don't really act very shy, and on the outside it would seem like I'm and extrovert. If I;m alone though, and around a lot of people I don't know, I just like to stay quiet and I usually won't talk to anyone unless they talk to me first, and my social anxiety is basically on 10.  Today in class we worked on analyzing quotes from Emily Dickinsons poetry. Doing this has helped me understand how certain metaphors in poetry are used to convey the theme, when it wasn't as clear to me before.

People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

 One time I needed distance was when I felt overwhelmed by school and all my extracurricular activities and I decided to take a step back by spending more time alone and limiting distractions like social media. At first, it felt strange not being as involved, but it gave me space to actually think about what was stressing me out and what I really needed to focus on. During that time, I realized that I tend to take on too much at once and don’t always give myself time to do it all. Having that distance helped me clear my mind, organize my priorities, and come back feeling more in control. It taught me that stepping away isn’t a bad thing. Instead, it can be really important for understanding yourself and making better decisions. Today we read chapters 2 and 3 and took different quotes from each chapter to categorize into themes, along with an explanation for each.
